Hi was wanting to no when gala programmes will be in the shops I think they should be out weeks before gala week having it on the gala site is no use for the elderly and people with no internet

Gala Reply:
Kevin over the last few years more and people are using the website for Gala information. As of this morning, July 13th, the programme menu for the 2014 Gala has been viewed 19,451 times. The programmes will be in the usual places this week, however people who are planning days away or returning home for Gala Week tend to get their information on-line these days.

Iwas born in the ards hospital in 1946 my father and mother worked for a Mr Paddy Fineagan in portaferry in the pub trade is that pub still there
pconnolly

Gala Reply: Can't say we know of any Finnegans in the pub trade in Portaferry, though there is a Finnegans Bar in Kircubbin. Would have been run by Tom and Margaret Finnegan in the 70's and 80's, if that is any help?

Edit: Patrick, we have been informed that Tom and Margaret did indeed have a small pub in Portaferry before moving to Kircubbin - it was along the shore between what was the Saltpans and the Scotsman. Thanks to Peter Finnegan for supplying that information.
