‘The Trains Don’t Stop Here Anymore’
Robert JE Simpson presents a collection of images centred around abandoned railways of Northern Ireland. These are on show at the Visitor Information Centre here in Portaferry. 
Also on at the VIC this afternoon, Clayrazy Workshop and Glitter Tattoos.

Gala Birthday Card Competition Winners.

A big thank you to all the local school children who designed birthday cards for the Gala’s 50th. Their cards are on display in Portaferry Visitor Information Centre.

Thanks to Ards and North Down Borough Council for organising the competition and to Deputy Mayor Gavin Walker, for presenting the prizes. The cards are now on display, so do go down, have a look and see the high standard of all entries on show.

Full Steam Ahead for July

Portaferry Gala, Sails and Sounds and Portaferry Triathlon teamed up at Portaferry Sailing Club to launch their events for this year. We hope to welcome thousands of visitors to the town across these events and as always, keep an eye on our site for more details.

Thanks to all who attended the AGM last night and to all who have taken on roles in the planning of Gala 2017. Loads of new ideas and suggestions for Gala 50. Plans are well underway to make this our biggest and best festival yet. Hope to see everyone in July.
