Ferry FM will soon be broadcasting to cover Gala Week 2019. The station is now based in it’s new home at the Recreational Hub, beside the Sailing Club.
If you have ever listened to the radio and thought “I could do that!”, please do get in touch. If you are passionate about a topic, music, have an idea for a programme, or would just like to help out across the week, let us know now.
Full training will be given and there will always be a producer on hand to help you out.
We are sad to say that Anthony, the voice of Gala for many throughout the 2000’s, has passed away.
A larger than life figure, who threw himself into so many Gala events, he was well known to all visitors in Portaferry, during our Festival.
Anthony also hosted “Love on the Lough” on our festival radio station ferry fm.
A very Merry Christmas to all our readers, wherever you are in the world. We hope you have a lovely holiday and get some time off to spend with the ones you love.
Thanks for all your support over the last 12 months and here’s to 2019 and Gala number 52. If you can come along and celebrate with us, fantastic, if you are away, fear not, this Gala Website will keep you up to date with everything going on.
Thank you to everyone who came along to the Square for the Christmas Lights switch on. The choirs from St Mary’s and Portaferry Integrated were a delight to hear and put everyone in fine festive form. Merry Christmas from all at Portaferry Gala and a special thanks to the Deputy Mayor Cllr Eddie Thompson who counted down to 6pm.
Thanks to everyone who came along to our Galaween BooFest. Thanks to those who volunteered their time to assist the Gala Committee and to all the children (and parents) who dressed up. Special thanks to Exploris for allowing us to use the Aquarium for our Twilight Trail and to Ards and North Down Borough Council for their support.
